Fan Sites
https://twitter.com/thexxfans - Specifically created by their fans
WWW.JAMIEXX.COM/ - One of the band members personal website, which fans can access and see his own personal work.
The above social network sites are ways for the fans to follow their movements and support them. The fans can contact the band, it makes the fans feel like they mean something to the band because there is always the possibility the band will reply to them. Tha band can post images, videos and general statuses to communicate with their fans.
Different sites are aimed at different ages and sub cultures of their fans. Their Myspace page is possibly aimed at a younger audience, 12 - 14. I think the type of people who use it most are people who like bands which arent very popular and not well known.
Facebook and twitter are globally known sites aimed at the teenage population, 12 - 19, but also I find alot of the older generation use these.
There are also blogs and websites created by The xx fans and aimed at The xx fans. Fans can post what they think and communicate with other fans, these websites almost unite their fans and bring them together creating a massive fan base.
Fans have also gone as far as creating their own music videos for their favourite xx songs.
The footage used in the fan made videos are actual footage from their other videos.
